This might be my pausing point. Years ago, when I first embraced this journey, I had a dream. When I look back on the things that were and what life could have been I am brought to the overwhelming conclusion that millions of people wish things were different for them too. My struggles are not my own.
My original book is much longer and covers many more subjects, and life experiences. It also has a lot of statistics and data. I am very proud of that book, but it was a lot of information crunched together. After putting “My Story” up here, I realized that each of those subjects need to be separated and broken down individually.
This now turns into a funding problem. I’ve been homeless off and on for years. I never truly recovered from my Covid losses. My time is up at the Safe Park that was gracious enough to take me in. That means I no longer have stable electricity, internet, or a safe place to park.
Right now I need to focus all of my energy on housing and getting through the winter. If you have any ideas please reach out. If you would like me to continue this work please donate.
PTSD.Online still needs a great deal of work. Things will need to be adjusted, expanded, tested and re-tested. The version that is up now will work and I’m bouncing through enough systems that don’t think anything can be tracked back to any one – well other than to me LOL.
One of the issues with chat sites is that no one wants to be the first to post. It’s kind of like group therapy in that way. Once people do open up, usually, others follow. I’m hoping having my story up will encourage others to share. Another option is to use the stories people tell me in-person and post them, with their permission of course. I do hope things will grow organically. I can not stress enough that opening up and talking is the best way to recover from trauma.
Stronger-US.org hopefully will cover the United States local programs. It is a lot of work, and it will take a great deal of time. A large portion of our assistance programs have lost funding. I know local communities are stepping in for their neighbors. I want to set up a system where people in their communities can submit their programs for me to map out. It’s a lot of work to do homeless. I’ll work on it as I can for now.
Free Balloons – I love it. I love giving out balloons and seeing all the smiles and giggles. I would like to continue. I also think it’s a great way to promote the programs. I do get hired to promote other business’. If you have an event or a space, please reach out and we can schedule.
I want to say Thank You, to everyone that supported and pushed me on this journey even if they will never read my book.
Thank You, to all the people I’ve met over the years that encouraged me to stay focused and get PTSD.Online up and running.
A special, Thank You to Josh Johnson, Trever Noah, and Eugene Khoza for recording and publishing: Josh Johnson: Finding Meaning in a System Built to Fracture You, this show helped pull me through the really rough times. The honesty and openness gave me reassurance that sometimes it’s about following your passions and putting in the work.
I’ll leave you with one more quote:
” You will get all you want in life, if you help enough people get what they want”
